Salzderhelden

Short facts

  • Einbeck

Salzderhelden, south-eastern Einbecker district in 4 km distance is crossed by the Leine .

Since 1974 the village of Salzderhelden has been one of today's 46 districts of the town of Einbeck and has approx. 1,750 inhabitants (as of 02.01.2024). In 1305, the village was first mentioned in a document under the name "Salehelden" . This name refers to the location of a brine spring on Heldenberg. To protect the brine springs discovered in the 12th century, from which the Salzderhelden salt works developed, the castle complex was built above the salt well.
