The district of Dassensen is located approx. 6 km southeast of the town Einbeck.

Dassensen is located on the northern edge of the wooded Alsburg ridge and on the southern edge of the Ilme basin. The village has around 611 inhabitants (as of 02.01.2024).
Located in front of Ahlsburg Dassensen is an excellent place to hike around. Here you have the opportunity to use paths in the Feldmark . But there is also plenty to discover in the forest, the Ahlsburg. The paths are wellwalkable. But Dassensen is also very well suited for cyclists. A cycle path leads from Einbeck to the village

An undated deed from Corvey Monastery states that the village of Dassensen (Diseldashausen) was founded in the 9th or 10th century.

Culture and sights

  • The Dassensen church was completed in 1800 and contains a baroque altar with a precious crucifix from 1723. In 1816 the altar was transferred from the chapel in Rotenkirchen to the church in Dassens.
  • The TSV Dassensen, as the largest club, offers children, young people, adults and seniors the opportunity to play sports in various ways. In addition to the Gym Dassensen, there is also a sports field and a volleyball court in the outdoors.
  • The sports shooters have their own clubhouse. In the outdoor area archery is possible in the summer months.
  • Once a year, Carnival is celebrated in Dassensen . With a parade and a closing party in the tent on the Dassensen sports field, this event has become a special event.
  • The volunteer fire brigade organizes its traditional meat roast in autumn.
  • The church choir and the male choral society are available to eager singers.
  • The number of clubs and associations is further supplemented by the DRK, the social association and the church congregation.
