Iber, the southernmost district of the town of Einbeck, lies on the Ahlsburg mountain range, 10 km away.
According to documentary sources, Iber is one of the oldest villages in the Einbeck area. It is crossed by the L543 and has 305 inhabitants (as of 02.01.2024).
Culture and sights
- The ev.Church of St. Johannis is located in the center, surrounded by the oldest houses in the village.
- The parish of Iber is in possession of the art-historically significant so-called Niello chalice, a communion chalice from around 1180. The chalice is on permanent loan to the Kestner Museum in Hanover.
