A visit to the battlefield on the Harzhorn is worthwhile for big and small alike.
On the site of the Roman Battle of the Harzhorn there is an information trail and an information building for visitors. Here, information can be obtained about the warlike clash between the Roman and Germanic fighting units around 235 AD.
Even today, individual battles, volleys of arrows or looting of the troops can be retraced on the information trail, as the information pillars of the trail are located in particularly significant areas of the battlefield.
There are various offers for children and families or groups. Visitors can book themed tours with certified tour guides. Workshops are offered for children and adults to join in and explore together. You can find out what the role of women in Roman-Germanic society was like, what games were played or what the life of a legionary in a Roman camp was like.
All offers are tailored to the age of the participants and the respective interests of the visitors.
