Pole's landmark is the picturesque castle ruins of the Counts of Everstein, who ruled the Upper Weser region between Hamelin and Holzminden for many centuries and can be seen from afar.
The castle ruins of Count von Everstein are enthroned high above the Weser in the small village of Polle. It was built in the 13th century and destroyed by Swedish troops during the Thirty Years' War. Since then, Polle Castle has been in ruins, but its former splendor can still be seen at the castle gate and the picturesque location has of course remained. Climb the 20-metre-high round keep and enjoy the fantastic view of the Weser and the Weser Uplands. The upper and lower castles are also used as a wonderful natural backdrop for theater performances, markets and concerts in the summer months. The Cinderella play is also performed here in the summer months. You can find out more about the history and life at the castle in the small Polle Castle Museum in the Haus des Gastes with numerous finds from recent archaeological excavations. The lovingly furnished Cinderella room is also located in the Haus des Gastes.
