Kuventhal is an idyllic northern district approx. 5 km from the town of Einbeck.
The bridge construction was significant for the town. The large military and trade route over the Hube near Einbeck was moved across Kuventhal at the beginning of the 19th century and the imposing Wilhelmsbrücke structure was built in 1828-31. This seven-arched viaduct can still be seen today on the local coat of arms. After the B3 route was relocated, a new bridge structure was built, the first double-decker bridge in Germany. In 1956, the structure was inaugurated and opened to traffic. The old Wilhelmsbrücke bridge was demolished.
