Bone Tower

Short facts

  • Einbeck

Powder barrels were stored in Einbeck´s Bone Tower in former times.

The Bone Tower (back then Powder Tower; not to be confused with the Powder Tower at Sonnenhaken) right at St. Alexandri Cathedral was built as an extension to the town fortification in the beginning of the 15th century.

Back then it was called Powder Tower, because it was used by locals to store ammunition.

The remains of the tower are 4,85 m wide and 5 m deep.
