Einbeck´s first speaking half-timbered house - Wolpeter House

The half-timbered house at the crossroads of Wolperstraße and Petersilienwasser was built around 450 years ago.

The house´s history begins in 1573 and leads to the Wittram family, who conducted the blue dye printing in this house for 130 years.
Nowadays the house is uninhabited, but there is a project that strives to revitalize and preserve the building.

This project called Denkmalpaten (honorary monument sponsors) pursues the goal of everybody listening to the house´s history. That´s when they came up with the idea of Einbeck´s first speaking half-timbered house.

Right at the front door you can scan the qr-code and listen to an audio recording by Klaus Hamann, who slipped into the role of the Wolpeter House.
