Wilhelm-Bendow-Theater

The Kulturring Einbeck uses the theater for the presentation and implementation of an extensive and multifaceted cultural program. Theater lovers can meet there for an entertaining classic or a nerve-wracking thriller, and comedy and children's theater are also part of the permanent presentation repertoire on stage. Numerous musical events, from singing acts to dance shows, skillfully provide variety. Personalities such as Eckart von Hirschhausen, Mirja Boes, Bernhard Hoecker, Die Prinzen, Ingo Appelt and Ingmar Stadelmann have already performed here.

The theater got its name from Wilhelm Bendow. The "man in the moon" and native of Einbeck was an actor and comedian and served humorists such as Loriot and Dieter Haller with his sketch "On the racetrack" and the much-quoted phrase "Where are they running?" served as a model for humorists such as Loriot and Dieter Hallervorden.
