The Martinskirche Markoldendorf was built in the Gothic style.
The old Martinskirche, which previously stood on the site of the current church, was probably 900 years old. However, it had to be demolished due to dilapidation. The foundation stone for St. Martin's Church was laid in 1868, for which the heavy blocks had to be hauled up the Kirchberg by 8 or 10 horses from the Solling Quarry in Lauenberg. The building survived two wars undamaged and is equipped with 4 bells.
