The Duckstein Spring has been an absolute hiking highlight since the early 1900s. .
Calcareous water flows in the spring. Evaporated water and the smallest lime particles settle on mosses, plant remains and the subsoil and harden. This creates a very porous rock, "tuff". The name "tuff" then became "duckstone". Dangerous and protected moss species can be found in the spring area.
Today, the Duckstein spring is a highlight for every hiker, as a shelter, several benches and a walled-in barbecue invite you to take a break.
