DruckerBande Einbeck

Short facts

  • Einbeck

The Printer's Quarter is home to a historic printing workshop - the Printer's Gang.

In the Printer's Quarter on Möncheplatz, a piece of Einbeck's past printing history is brought to life. Back then, the first Einbeck daily newspaper, the "Einbecker Tageblatt", was published and printed in the quarter. Historic printing presses can still be seen today in the DruckerBande, which is based there.

The printing culture that was once practiced in the building is to be brought back into people's consciousness. That's why the "DruckerBande" presents itself in an open historical printing workshop.

The name "DruckerBande" has sprung from the creative mind of print artist Barbara Brübach from Hann. Münden. The gang stands for solidarity - from the 'tender gang' for young love or friendship to the gang of robbers that invites you to make friends. Everyone should feel invited to join the DruckerBande

The DruckerBande invites visitors of all ages to get to know the art of craftsmanship and printing and then learn how to use the various printing techniques. Active dyeing, for example, transforms the indigo-dyed white fabrics from green to blue
