The Kreiensen railroad station is an important junction in local public transport.
Between 2012 and 2014, the platforms and roofs were renovated. With the timetable change in December 2018, Kreiensen station became an ICE station with four ICE stops.
There are a total of two platform tracks at Kreiensen station. As the tracks separated two locations in Kreiensen, a pedestrian bridge was built.

Further historical information:
The station celebrated its opening in 1854. The station is located south of the city center and its station building was designed by architect Hubert Stier. A new building was erected to the south of the station building for the world's first track level signal box, which was built in 1956 and was able to take over the tasks of six old-style signal boxes.
In 2011, the electronic signal box remotely controlled from the Hanover operations center was put into operation.
